I can best speak of the SBCP from my own experience, and can honestly say that there are two fantastic people in Tracy Elsum and Paul Buckley, currently at the helm of the centre. Both are supportive, down to earth, knowledgeable, and have provided extensive advice and assistance to Discover Mandurah.
Paul Buckley has succeeded in business. He's made his money over 20 years in various industries including finance and coaching. Back from semi-retirement that wasn't sitting well, the Peel business community have access to his insight and knowledge of the public and private sector. Whether you are a small start up, or an established business endeavouring to maintain or increase your profit by improving your systems and business practices, spending some time talking to Paul can be extremely beneficial. From the routine such as employment, insurance, licensing and other day to day issues that may arise, to more complex matters such as marketing and government lobbying and representation, Paul takes a down to earth, honest, and practical approach to your needs and the needs of our local business community. Paul understands the situation on the ground, and is able to translate that understanding into realistic and meaningful solutions. Paul is supported by Tracy Elsum. Tracy is effective, encouraging and hard working. She puts excessive work into cutting through red tape in order to provide effective support to small business. In governmental issues Tracy provides fantastic representation and advocacy, and can mean the sole difference between a positive and negative outcome. You are doing your business a disservice by not taking the time to talk with the SBCP. They can help you in 101 ways you may not have considered. And they do it free of charge. Discover Mandurah would strongly recommend that any small business in the Peel - especially a start up business - call Samantha on 9535 5672 to make an appointment to speak to Paul Buckley regarding the challenges concerning to the day to day running of your small business, or the larger issues intrinsic to your industry.
If you just have an idea for a business and need advice regarding its feasibility and the steps you will need to take to realise the potential of your new enterprise, the SBCP can provide comprehensive advice and assistance.
